We saw an article on these sculptures and quickly went down to The Rocks for some quick photos around a wet sunset. They are part of a series of Chubby Women made by Chinese artist, Xu Hong Fei. Very interesting and too bad they are only here for a week and without much publicity.

Umi Sushi at Darling Quarter is the go to Japanese place during weeknights. Mostly because they had an opening sushi special for nearly the whole year. We later heard that their udon was hand made, so we went there to try them out. We sat next to the sushi train and just couldn’t resist grabbing plates after plates of sushi.
This was an exercise in post processing. I took this picture in a temple right in the afternoon with the Fuji X100 ISO 800 and aperture priority at f8. The first picture is the Jpeg SOOC.

We spent 3 weeks in New York and was about 10 minutes walk from Penn Station. Everyone knows about Grand Central. The only thing we knew about Penn was that Madison Square Garden was on top of it. We found out very quickly how important a transport hub it was. We arrived during peak hour in the evening lugging about the maze of corridors looking like, well tourists. Continue reading
